So last week, we drank too much took a little holiday. We are back to talk about the Panthers, who are now the only NFL team that remains undefeated this season (thanks, Broncos!). If, like me, you don’t really follow football regularly, you may not be aware that this is a pretty big deal. Since my boss likes to make me cry expand my knowledge, she chose this week’s topic, knowing it would require actual research on my part. Even though I’m much for watching sports (aside from the occasional UFC match), there has been a sense of excitement building with Cam Newton and company’s performance this season so far.
Of course I started with Wikipedia, and I was immediately gratified to discover that our mascot’s name is Sir Purr. Sir Purr. I really enjoy saying that, and will likely give my next cat that name. Since I know very little about the sport, other than being vaguely aware of what the quarterback does, I am providing the below links to places where football-types speak much more intelligently and eloquently on the Panthers, their chances, and other sportsy stuff. Even not being a huge fan of the sport, it is admittedly pretty cool that they have been spanking the other teams doing so well, especially given that they have never been undefeated this far into the season. Makes me feel kinda fuzzy for my home state, and I may just end up watching Sunday’s game against the Saints. Go, Panthers! See you next Tuesday.
