Sugar Grove, located about 15 minutes from Boone and 30 minutes from Watauga Lake, TN, is a beautiful community located in western Watauga County. It is named after the sugar maples that can be found in the area.  The area is rich in history and is known to have the first cheese factory in the area.  The Cove Creek High School, Ben Farthing Farm, and Ward Family House located in Sugar Grove are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
