The SouthPark neighborhood was named after the SouthPark Mall which was built in 1970. Many of the homes in the SouthPark neighborhood were built when the area boomed in to 1970s and 1980s. They homes are built on large lots and have mature trees. It’s a desirable place to buy due to its proximity to one of the largest business districts in Charlotte, as well as shopping, Harris YMCA, and Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pop series.
