Laurel Springs is located in Allegheny County, close to the Ashe County line. Laurel Springs is about a 45 minute drive from Boone. It is home to the Robert L. Doughton House. Built in 1899, the now Doughton Hall Bed and Breakfast was home to a prominent North Carolina politician. The home is located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.  Laurel Springs is home to Thistle Meadow Winery, beautiful New River State Park, and Dusty Trails Outfitters.
