At 5,506 feet in elevation, Beech Mountain is highest incorporated community east of the Rocky Mountains.  Beech Mountain Resort is known as the premier ski destination in North Carolina.  Once the snow has melted on Beech Mountain you can mountain bike, hike, fly fish, and golf. The town’s Buckeye Recreation Area provides tennis, a playground, indoor basketball, and a fitness center. The town is also home to the unique Land of Oz!
