At 50 square miles, Lake Norman is the largest man made lake in North Carolina. Conveniently located along I-77 Lake Norman is an ideal place to retire, own a second home, or live year round. The towns of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville, each unique, dot the banks of the lake. Depending on where you’re heading the lake can be anywhere from a half hour to an hour from Charlotte. Duke Power, the builder of Lake Norman, has designated two bank fishing areas and eight public boating access on the lake. Catfish, crappie, bluegill and yellow perch, as well as striped, largemouth, white bass, and freshwater gar can be found on in the waters of the the lake.
